Correction

Well nothing that I speculated about yesterday was correct. Neither HVAC or framing are complete, and the basement hasn't even been started. Still, when I went by today, there was progress since I last saw it; I'm just  not sure whether that progress was made yesterday or today. Inconsequential as it may be to you, the reader, I'm trying hard to keep this thing accurate and up-to-date, so the fact that I don't know if today was day 73 or not is troubling to me. To be sorted out shortly.

In any case, here are some pictures of ducts I took today:
Main level between kitchen and living room
Master bathroom and laundry room duct
I know; it's boring.

Here's something exciting (for me)...The framers corrected an error they had made over the weekend. They had put in a full wall where there should have been a half wall, but they have since fixed it. That's it in the foreground in both the before and after pictures below:

After
Judging by these stacks of materials, we have a ways to go before we see the last of the HVAC crew and the framers.

Supposedly our windows have shipped, so if you don't take into account that they should have been here by now, then that's some good news. Hopefully they'll arrive early next week.

  1. Jessica, you are doing an incredible job of documenting a very complex and at times frustrating situation. I know that your house will be well worth the time that you and Brock have invested in it. I am very proud of both of you for your determination and resilience to problems that you have encountered. You are now entering the final faze where the fruits of your efforts will be realized. Keep up the good work!

  2. Thanks so much, Alan! I think we finally believe that this is going to happen.

  3. I can't believe I spelled phase, faze. Even spell check can't prevent that one!
