Day 49

More detail work today; nothing too exciting to report in that department, so I'll tell you a little story about insulation  instead.

Brock and Mark were discussing different types of insulation, and decided to pay a visit to an insulation distributer whose showroom is just on the other side of the warehouse. They spoke with a salesman who walked back to the site with them, and was surprised to see what we had been up to without his knowledge so close to his showroom (Incidentally, Mark had previously spoken with someone from this company on the phone, unaware that they were located less than 100 yards from our front door). The salesman recommended open-cell spray foam around the outside perimeter at the location where the cement will be poured, and closed-cell spray foam sprayed from the interior onto the back of the siding. He liked our house, and after getting the tour, said he would call some of his vendors to see if they might be interested in sponsoring a portion of the insulation for the house in exchange for some publicity. So, we'll see if anything comes of that.

Also, a window salesman came by today, but his products were cost-prohibitive. Brock is googling away as I write, researching some other options.
