Here's the situation: the first floor is twenty inches higher than the engineering says it should be. This is due to a mistake in the site development plan that the county didn't catch in any of its reviews. Now we're stuck in a stand-off between the county and the engineer, and neither side wants to budge until we shell out some more money. We'll try to sort through all this mess on Monday.
