Didn't get a chance to post yesterday, but the painters were on site as promised. They were back today, and they'll be back again tomorrow.

Yes, that's tile. The manufacturer, St. Barth, makes ceramic tile that looks like distressed wood. This one is called Brigantino. The first floor bathroom is a little more traditional:
